  1. Elated I found this site today. Under the section of quartermaster sergeants and regimental supply sergeants of the regiment 1849-1936, I found my 2x great grandfather, John G. Irwin (Irving, Irvine). This information provided me with a place to pick up my search for his arrival in the US. Because he enlisted 1st in Boston, I’m hoping I can determine when he arrived. Is there any other information available for him?

    1. Hello Pam,

Thank you for visiting the 2d Cavalry Association’s 2d Dragoon website and leaving a comment about your gg-grandfather.

I looked on Ancestry.com for any further records on your ancestor, John G. Irwin, but the two enlistment records I posted on the 2d Dragoon site were all that I could find. I don’t have an international membership on Ancestry.com anymore, as they are quite expensive, so I couldn’t check Ireland records.

Sorry I couldn’t be of any further assistance. Good luck in your search.
